Maisie Peters spoke to NME backstage at Reading 2026 about her third album, Florescence, and her upcoming 2027 headline show at London’s The O2.
The singer-songwriter performed on the festival’s main stage, now called The Grid, on August 29, delivering what she described as a “megamix” of songs from across her catalog. She said returning to Reading felt “full circle,” after a surprise set at the festival years ago on the BBC Introducing stage.
Peters said Florescence, which came out in May, reflects a steadier period in her life. According to NME, she explained that she wrote the album while falling in love and spending more time at home after years of touring and traveling.
She also discussed working with guest artists for the first time on a record, including Julia Michaels and Marcus Mumford. Looking ahead, Peters said her first headline show at The O2 will be hard to take in, though she joked that there may be horses involved in the staging.
