A Maricopa man was arrested Monday night after police say he told officers that huffing led to a crash in the Home Depot parking lot, according to InMaricopa.
William Monaghan, 40, was taken into custody around 10:33 p.m. after officers responded to the store on Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway for a reported vehicle collision, according to a probable cause statement.
Police found a white Chevrolet Colorado that had hit a light pole, causing about $15,000 in damage. Monaghan was identified as the driver and only person in the vehicle, the statement said.
According to the statement, Monaghan told officers his huffing caused the crash, and police reported seeing multiple air canisters inside the truck. Officers also learned that his driver’s license had been suspended after a prior DUI.
He was booked into the Pinal County Jail on charges including aggravated DUI, DUI, criminal damage and reckless driving.
