Maricopa’s newest taco spot opens with ribbon cutting Saturday

The Taco Spot is set to celebrate its grand opening in Maricopa on Saturday, according to InMaricopa. The restaurant is located at 44600 W. Smith-Enke Road, Suite 101.

Festivities begin at 4 p.m. with a ribbon cutting, followed by live music, face painting and other entertainment. Afternoon performances by La Banda Alterada and La Solucion are also planned.

The opening comes about a month after the restaurant held a soft opening, which gave staff time to train and get used to the pace of service. Owners Emmanuel Flores and Cristina Ruiz said they wanted a fresh start for the former Barro’s Pizza space.

They gave the restaurant a full interior renovation, including new appliances, a new layout and updated fixtures. The décor includes murals of horses as a nod to Maricopa’s history. Along with Antojitos Lindamar, which offers desserts, ice cream and fruit, The Taco Spot will serve tacos and birria.

“We’re just excited to be able to serve all the people in Maricopa,” Flores told InMaricopa. “Looking forward to taking away your problems one taco at a time.”
