Maricopa voters head to the polls Tuesday for council, school board and propositions

Maricopa voters will head to the polls Tuesday, Nov. 3, to choose city leaders and weigh in on two local propositions, according to InMaricopa. Polls open at 6 a.m. and close at 7 p.m.

Four candidates are competing for two seats on the Maricopa City Council, while five candidates are running for two seats on the Maricopa Unified School District Governing Board. Voters may select up to two candidates in each race.

The ballot also includes Proposition 414, which asks voters whether to approve the city’s updated General Plan for future growth and development, and Proposition 416, which seeks to renew MUSD’s 10% maintenance and operations budget override. According to the article, the override provides about $7.8 million each year and supports smaller class sizes, the RAM Academy alternative high school program and instructional technology.

InMaricopa also notes that Pinal County uses assigned polling places, so voters should check their designated location before leaving home. Accepted identification includes an Arizona driver’s license or state-issued ID, and voters with an unreturned early ballot can drop it off at an official county location by 7 p.m. Tuesday.
